Jill Olsen is in her fourth year as the Assistant Sports
Information Director at Johns Hopkins University, where she is
responsible for the coverage of 11 of the Blue Jays 24 varsity
sports, including the Division I women's lacrosse program.
Olsen began her career in sports information as a graduate student
at North Carolina State University. She spent two years as a
student assistant in the NC State Media Relations office while
pursuing her master’s degree in sports management. While at
NC State, Olsen worked at the 2002 and 2003 ACC Men’s and
Women’s Basketball Championships as well as, the First and
Second Rounds and the East Regional of the 2002 NCAA Women’s
Basketball Tournament. In addition, Olsen was the Media Relations
Assistant for the Carolina Hurricanes in 2002.
After graduating from NC State in 2003, Olsen landed her first
full-time job as the Associate Director of Sports Information at
St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. There she was responsible
for 15 of the Saints' 32 varsity sports, including football and
Division I women's ice hockey. Olsen covered two NCAA Frozen Fours
in her time with the Saints women's hockey team. After two and a
half years in Canton, she relocated to Baltimore and Johns Hopkins
University.
In her three and a half years with the Blue Jays, Olsen has hosted
numerous Centennial Conference Tournament and NCAA Tournament
events. In addition, she assisted with the 2007 NCAA Men's Lacrosse
Final Four and the ECAC-SIDA Workshop, both hosted in Baltimore
just days apart. Olsen also worked on the game day staff for the
Baltimore Ravens in 2006.
