Adrienne Mullikin is in the midst of her second stint on the ECAC-SIDA executive board. She was selected as the second vice-president to start the 2006-07 year and served as president during 2009-10. Mullikin had served as the executive board's secretary from 2002-2005. Mullikin is a 13-year veteran of the sports information profession and currently is entering her fifth year as sports information director at Hood College in Frederick, Md. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications in April 2008. Originally from Baltimore, Mullikin got her start as an intern at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in Salem, Va., during her senior year at Hollins College and upon graduation secured an internship at Towson University. Following her two-year appointment at Towson, Mullikin landed her first full-time job at West Virginia University as assistant sports information director. Then in May 2000, Mullikin relocated to New York and joined the sports information staff at St. John's University. While in Jamaica, Mullikin served as assistant media coordinator for the first and second rounds of the 2001 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at Nassau Coliseum. A year and a half later, she was named sports information director at Manhattan College where she spent two years working with the Jaspers' 19 varsity programs. In August 2003, Mullikin journeyed up the Hudson River to West Point where she became the assistant director for athletic communications at the U.S. Military Academy. She served as media coordinator for the 2005 NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championships at Christl Arena. Following a two-year term at Army, Mullikin relocated back to Maryland and bought a home in Frederick. Despite a year-long absence from sports information, Mullikin was drawn back to the profession she loves and was named sports information director at Hood College in September 2006. An avid Orioles fan, Mullikin lettered in swimming and softball at Baltimore City College High School. She earned the school's Senior Scholar-Athlete Award in 1993 and went on to swim and play club softball at Hollins as well. She graduated with honors from Hollins in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in communication arts. Mullikin currently resides in Frederick with her loyal lab, Mulli. |
